If you’re anything like me, you often like drinkin’ in the confines of your comfortable chair or couch and would be more apt to go out if the fucker was at the bar you were going to and you could just sit there and get fucked up and then drive your chair home. Well, sure as shit, Minesotta resident Dennis LeRoy Anderson, 62 years old, had “eight or nine beers” in August of 2008 after using his motorized Laz-Y-Boy to get the bar. On the way home, he lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle. Sixth Judicial District Judge, Heather Sweetland, ordered 180 days of jail and two years of probation starting Monday.

According to the police report, the Lay-Z-Boy chair had been modified using a lawn-mower engine for motorization and was equipped with a built-in stereo and cup holders. That shit is about as white trash as it gets but that’s fucking awesome. My only question is how the fuck do you send a man to jail for crashing his motorized chair into a parked car. Yeah, he was drunk. What of it? Pay a fine. Pay restitution. Now, the dude’s probably gonna die in prison. Besides, how is it much different from riding a bike or walking home drunk and falling into a moving car. It’s not like the fucking thing travels at light speed, too.

I think the judge was just jealous.

AP News reports Anderson’s attorney, David Keegan, did not immediately return a call for comment. It doesn’t surprise me considering he just got his 62 year old client six months in prison for crashing into a parked car in a motorized chair.
