I was watching a Bill Maher rerun this evening when they ran a segment called “Caucus Me.” Basically, Bill Maher asked everyday people who they were voting for and why. The point? To highlight the fact that no one seems to know why they’re voting for a particular candidate. It’s actually a pretty sad little feature.

Some people may argue that the producers only took the interviewees who didn’t have a point to make but if you were to poll your friends and family, they would likely spit out regurgitated, vague information. My own brother, who is a part of this country’s Navy service (sorry Rich), allegedly had no clue that Bush wasn’t an option for re-election this year. What does that say? When our own troops don’t know the political makeup of the country they are fighting for?

Here’s the Caucus Me segment, more on the presidential election, and a brief skim through other political events.

Damn, your brother’s a douche. Most people are though. This is the year for ignorance in campaigning.

I have noticed a lot of people aren’t paying attention anymore. Half the people don’t even know what their candidate stands for, it’s really quite pathetic.
